Our BeliefsOur PassionOur church is committed to a contemporary, progressive ministry whose mission is to lead men, women, boys and girls into a vital and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. This process, which the Bible calls "discipleship", includes a specific outreach to the families, single parents and singles of our community. The ministry declares the power of God and how a personal relationship with Him brings inner peace and relevance to our lives. The church also teaches that real worship of God is a lifestyle and that joy comes as we live under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and makes praying, studying and serving the focus of our lives The Four B'sThe life and ministry efforts of this fellowship are guided by one imposing reason and four encompassing purposes:
"Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace in God through our Lord Jesus Christ...and we rejoice..." Romans 5:1-2 We rejoice and celebrate our God and the favor He has extended to us to live in and experience all the pleasures of an eternal relationship with Him. We also celebrate our mutual brotherhood in Jesus Christ.
"...fervently love one another from the heart..." 1 Peter 1:22 Because we believe, we belong to the community of Christ: first, in its larger sense as the church throughout the world and this age and then, in its more tangible sense as a local fellowship of believers. By belonging to a local community of believers we have the opportunity to experience close, secure, Christ centered relationships. Through These relationships we care for each other by showing our concern and interest in each other's lives and we support each other by furnishing the emotional, physical and spiritual assistance that each of us need on our journey through this life.
"...until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measures of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:13 Christ desires that His body be mature and useful to God. But the body is only as mature as each individual part. Therefore, we desire to become useful, mature Disciples of Christ, reflecting His maturity. Established yet growing in the Word, in prayer, in fellowship with God and His children, in our daily life and witness, and in our love for others, so that we might be effective ministers of Christ to the church, our community and our world.
"...and you shall be My witness both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth." Acts 1:8 We endeavor to bring the realities of Jesus Christ to our community and world in four ways by: 1. Promoting the character of Jesus Christ in our lives and the lives 2. Being ready for opportunities to share the specific truth of God's love and the plan for the forgiveness of man's sin; 3. Promoting Biblical truth and its relevance to every aspect of life; 4. Corporate awareness, prayer and support of chosen mission programs.
Statement of FaithWe believe: 1. The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the Divine and final authority for Christian faith and life. 2. In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 3. That Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on High, is now our High Priest and Advocate. 4. That the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service. 5. That man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. 6. That the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become the children of God. 7. That water baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Chruch during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation. 8. That the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head. 9. That only those who are thus members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local body. 10. That Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs. 11. In the personal pre-millennial and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this "Blessed Hope" has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. 12. In the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, of the unbeliever to judgement and everlasting conscious punishment
