FAQsHere are answers to some of the frequent questions we hear....
We are located at 34384 County Road 63, Grand Rapids, MN. Click here for a map! Will I understand the message, even if I don't know much about the Bible? Our messages are prepared to connect with people's lives by using the ageless wisdom of Scripture and presenting it in a creative, yet straight-forward way. The services are designed to be easily understood by individuals checking out what it really means to have a personal relationship with Jesus and even long-time Christians find these services invaluable to their spiritual and personal growth. We emphasize relationships, not fashion. Dress how ever you feel comfortable. We’re just glad you’re here! Am I expected to give an offering? The Grand Rapids Evangelical Free Church does not pass an offering plate at its services. An offering is an act of giving between you and God. The regular congregation members do give each week as an act of worship in thanking God for all that He has done in their lives and to help support the many activities and missions of the church. As a guest, there is no obligation for you to give. What if I don’t know the songs or don’t like to sing? You may want to join in on the songs you find easy to follow or you may want to just enjoy listening to others sing. Worship is not about singing. It is about focusing our minds on who God is and allowing Him to speak to us. What makes the Grand Rapids Evangelical Free Church unique? GREFC offers services that present the timeless truths of Christianity in a way impacts people in their lives today. No matter where you are in your spiritual journey, you can grow in your understanding of Christianity at these services. In addition, we have Adult and Youth Education that helps people grow in fellowship with other Christians. What if I come from a different faith background? People who attend GREFC come from a wide variety of faith backgrounds. Together, we focus on biblical truth and teachings, and pursuing an active relationship with Jesus Christ. You don't have to be a member of a specific religious denomination to do that. Sunday services typically last about an hour and 15 minutes. Will I be singled out in any way as a visitor? At GREFC, you'll never be put on the spot, never feel forced to give money, and never embarrassed. You don't have to sign anything or register your attendance in any way. If you decide to fill out a Guest card, it will only be used to send you a Thank You for joining us and an invitation to help you on your journey in any way we can. Let the service be a gift to you from God. Where do my kids go during the service? Our nursery is for children 0-3 years of age and our Children's Church is for children 3 years old to 2nd grade. The children have Bible Stories with the flannel board. They also learn about Jesus and the Word of God during prayer time as well as while they play games, read books, singing, do crafts, hike, have snacks in a safe, friendly and kid-centered environment. What if I'm not even sure I believe in God? If you haven't made a decision to accept Christ, but would like to know more about it, you're a seeker. That's a good thing. That means you're asking questions about spiritual things and how they might relate to your life. You are welcome to explore answers to your questions here.
